FAQ

Do you offer unlimited mileage?

Yes! Every rental includes unlimited miles—no hidden mileage fees.

What is your cancellation policy?

All reservations are non-cancelable and non-refundable.
Once a reservation is made, the van is removed from availability for your dates. We do not allow cancellations, refunds, or early-return credits. You may request to reschedule, but new dates are not guaranteed and depend on availability.


Reservations & Rental Process

How do I make a reservation?

Booking is quick and easy through our website.
To secure your rental, we require:

  • Full payment at checkout

  • A valid driver’s license

  • Proof of insurance

Who can rent from you?

We rent to individuals, businesses, churches, schools, colleges, sports teams, and event groups.

Do I have to meet someone to get my van?

No. RearView Rentals operates primarily contactless.
You will receive a van number and access code before pickup.
If the van is delivered, you still enter using the code provided.

Why do I have to select two days if I only need one?

Our system requires both a pickup date and a drop-off date—similar to a hotel.

  • Pickup: 9:00 AM–4:00 PM

  • Drop-Off: 7:00 AM–12:00 PM

Late drop-offs will incur a full additional day’s rental charge.
Please notify us if you expect to be late.


Insurance & Liability

Can I buy extra insurance for my rental?

We use an innovative cost-saving insurance structure.
It is the renter’s responsibility to confirm whether their own insurance covers van rentals.
If your insurance is insufficient, you are legally liable for all damages.
RearView Rentals’ insurance is secondary and only applies after your policy.


Delivery, Collection & Airport Rentals

Do you offer delivery and collection?

Yes. Within a 20-mile radius, delivery and collection are available for $75 each way, depending on staffing.
If the system will not allow delivery, it is not available for your area.
Long-term rentals within radius may qualify for free delivery and collection.

Do you offer airport pickup or shuttle service?

We do not offer a shuttle service.
However:

  • We can drop off a rental van at Tri-Cities Airport in a designated lot.

  • You may take a taxi or ride-share to one of our locations if delivery is unavailable.

  • If the van is parked at an airport, all parking fees are the renter’s responsibility.


Fuel, Fees & Additional Charges

What if I don’t want to refuel the vehicle?

You can prepay for our Fuel Top Off Service at checkout.
If you return the van without a full tank and did not prepay, you will be charged:

  • A $25 inconvenience fee, plus

  • The actual cost to refuel the vehicle.


Rental Options & Requirements

Is there a minimum age to rent?

Yes, you must be 25 or older.

What types of vans do you offer?

  • Ford Transit 15-passenger vans (low, medium, and high roof)

  • Mercedes Ultimate Coach 10-passenger luxury van

What condition are the vans in?

All vans are cleaned and inspected after every rental for safety and comfort.

Where are you located?

We have two locations:

  • Johnson City: 805 Sunset Drive (across from Mahoney’s)

  • Knoxville: 7509 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN

Do you offer discounts?

Yes! We offer deep discounts on long-term rentals. Contact us for a quote.

Do you have long-term rental rates?

Yes. We offer monthly and multi-year rental rates (1-, 2-, and 3-year terms). Request a custom quote.

Do you offer one-way rentals?

No. We do not offer one-way rentals outside of our service area.

Can I drop off a van anywhere?

No. Vans must be returned to an approved RearView Rentals location unless you arrange a pickup within our service radius (additional fee applies).

Are rentals tax-exempt?

Yes—qualified organizations may rent tax-exempt.
A valid tax-exempt certificate must be provided before booking.
Taxes cannot be refunded after a reservation is completed.
